60 years on the road
Since 1965, Adria has been bringing new ideas, cutting-edge design and first-class caravans, motorhomes and motor homes to the road. And because innovation is in the brand's blood, to mark this anniversary Adria has produced a special 60 Years Selection - vehicles that combine premium materials, sophisticated detailing and a host of clever upgrades.
ADRIA - 60 YEARS OF INNOVATION AND SUCCESS
The Adria brand is one of the most successful in the European caravan industry thanks to its wide range of products and presence in more than 30 European markets. Its long-term success is due to its customer orientation, adaptation of products to different markets, emphasis on functionality and continuous innovation. These are literally in the Adria's genes - even when it was manufactured under the IMV brand, it stood out thanks to light, well-equipped caravans at an affordable price and technical innovations such as double glazing and central heating.
HOW THE BLUE STRIPE BECAME A SYMBOL
Adriatic sea and blue sky. Although initially the blue stripe was not very warmly received by customers (the competition at the time opted for more pastel shadesshades), over time it became a distinctive hallmark of the Adria brand, which became increasingly popular throughout Europe.
ADRIA ROSTE
In 1978, Adria introduced the second generation of caravans. The European economic boom at that time also brought growth in the caravanning sector, and Adria continued to expand and broaden its range - in 1978 it offered five model lines, fourteen models and twenty-two variants. The success was huge, but it also brought "sweet worries" - demand exceeded production capacity and the company had to work Saturdays in May and June to deliver all orders.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN: THE FIRST ADRIA MOTORHOMES
The first idea of a motorhome was conceived in the late 1960s, when the Adriatik brand was registered. The first motorhome prototypes - the Adriatik 420 and 450 on Renault chassis - were developed in 1982. The team had to complete the development of the Adriatik 450 in just one week to make it to the upcoming trade fairs. Although the difficult economic situation in Europe ultimately meant that these models were not sold, the work on the prototypes provided valuable experience that later helped the successful development of the Adria motorhome programme.
ADRIATIK - FIRST STEPS TO MOTORHOMES
The production of the Adria motorhome began in 1986 in Deinze under the Adriatik brand with two models with an alcove on a Fiat Ducato 14 chassis. It quickly became apparent that the range needed to be wider, and so new variants were added over the next two years. In 1987, the cars were given a new rounded design instead of the original sharp lines. Popularity grew and in 1991 Adria introduced the first semi-integrated model in five versions. However, due to the difficult economic situation, production at Deinze ceased. In the same year, a new company, Adria Mobil, was founded, marking a new beginning and a relaunch of the Adria brand.
